1. Your Welcome Letter
1.1 Account Access Fun and learning with Creativity Express begins here! Once you place your order in our store you can expect your Welcome Letter within the day, often much sooner. We have real humans do the job of creating accounts to make sure everyone gets what they need, so be slightly patient. If you don't receive your Letter within that time frame, please contact us! Don't suffer quietly, we're here. The Welcome Letter contains your login information to the Teacher Account Center, and an overview of how to get started using Creativity Express. |

1.2 Key Code Setup If you are creating your account using our Key Code system, visit our activation page. Enter your code as directed. When prompted, enter your personal details. This type of account will auto-create with the number of children and length of time purchased. You can expect your Welcome Letter within minutes. |

1.3 Logging into the Teacher Account Center If entering as a Parent or Teacher, click on "Teacher Account Center" at the top right corner of the madcaplogic.com website. This loads the Teacher Account Center login page (shown). Enter the username and password provided on your Welcome Letter, or your current password. The 'forgot password' link may be used to re-set your password to one of your choice. You can also re-set your password in the account center. Logging in to the Teacher Account center brings up the services menu. |

4. Having Fun with Creativity Express Online
4.1 Logging In Begin by clicking on "Student Login" at the top of the madcaplogic.com website. A login screen will appear. The user will enter their 'Student' username and password as found on their Welcome Letter and click on "Login." The Home Base menu page will appear. The 'forgot password' link may be used to re-set the "Student" password from the one on the Welcome Letter. The 'forgot username' link will re-send the username to the primary acccount email. |

4.2 The Home Base Home Base opens access to all 16 lessons contained within 4 themed modules. Though you can move around freely, we highly recommend beginning with Start With Art! and Color Smart before moving on to the Envision Art and Charting Art lessons. Both across the 4 modules and within each individual module the content of the lessons builds upon each other, progressing from simpler concepts to more advanced topics. Supplementary Content Guides may be found on our 'Information For Educators' page as well as within the Teacher Account Center. After selecting a module, it will be launched and open in a new browser tab. |

4.3 The Main Menu The four lessons in each module can be accessed from the Main Menu. Clicking on an individual lesson will open it. The recommended sequence is to begin at the top left, move right then down. For example, in Envision Art you would begin with 'Eyes", then "Movement", Emphasis" and finish with "Portraits. The first time a lesson opens it will release the sayART, seeART thinkART and doART sections in sequence. |

4.4 Challenges With each of the 16 lessons, once all of the activities in sayART and seeART sections have been completed children are prepared to move to the thinkART section This begins with the beginning with the "Challenge." Questions within the Challenges cover content from the lesson activities and may be taken as many times as desired. |

4.5 Puzzles In this section of thinkArt children have fun with puzzles with questions based upon the lesson content. They can choose a level of difficulty, but are presented with two images, finishing one is the correct answer. Puzzle pieces are easliy moved around with the cursor but may not be rotated. Right or wrong, the idea is to have fun with the puzzles as many times as they choose. |

4.6 Artist Cards The Artist Card page allows children to view cards showing some of the world's most famous artists. Each Artist Card shows an image of the artist and reveals a little bit about their life, personality, time period and the style of art in which they worked. Clicking on an Artist Card enlarges it for viewing and the card may be rotated to show artwork on the reverse. Clicking on the "Return Card" button returns it to the collection. Children can return to the lesson by clicking "I'm Finished." |

4.7 Gallery Clicking on the "Art Gallery" in the thinkArt section provides detailed information about the artworks the childres see and are discussed in the lessons. As well as giving detailed information about the Artwork included in the lessons, the Art Gallery is a helpful references for the Creativity Builders and Art Factory hands-on activities. The artwork displayed is for each individual lesson. |

4.8 Glossary Clicking on the "Glossary" link at the end of the thinkART section provides access to a comprehensive glossary containing art terms for easy reference. As with the Art Gallery and Artist Cards, the Glossary can be viewed from any lesson for easy reference. Clicking on any letter of the alphabet at the top will jump to that area of the glossary. |

4.9 My Portfolio After selecting "Portfolio," click on "Add new artwork." A finder window of the artwork choices available on your computer will appear. Select the artwork you wish to import and click the "Select" button. The artwork will appear in the portfolio. Artwork can then be titled and text comments can be added. After entering comments, children must click "Save" to see it in the portfolio. Artwork may be edited and re-saved at any time. To delete an image click "Delete". To exit the Portfolio area and return to the lesson content choose "I'm Finished". |

4.10 The Doodle Gizmo A fun and easy to use online dwawing tool, the dooddle gizmo allows children to quickly draw online. Whether it's for the Creativity Builders, Art Factory ideas or just for fun children can easily explore simple drawing tools. Who knows? Maybe they can create a masterpiece! |

4.11 Creativity Builders Creativity Builders are hands-on art and creativity projects using the principles covered in that particular lesson. Two per lesson, they are located under the doART heading in the lower left hand menu. Children may complete these activities on their own, or in a group setting. Comprehensive lesson plans based on the Creativity Builders are available both within the Student content and the Teacher Account Center. Projects can be completed with a digital paint program or traditional art materials. |

4.12 The Idea Gizmo Within each Creativity Builder, children may click on the "Idea Gizmo" at the bottom of the screen to get fun ideas and project templates for the activity. To access information from the Idea Gizmo, children should click on the two large handles. Some Creativity Builder activities come with supplemental materials. A "download design" icon will appear at the bottom of the Idea Gizmo if there are extra materials. Click on the icons to download these materials to your computer in pdf format. |

4.13 The Art Factory Fun for all ages, the Art Factory Lesson Plans include 'Group Activity Summaries' with detailed lesson overviews, 'Teacher Lesson Plans' that simplify hands-on learning and character-led 'On My Own Activities'. With many activities to choose from, the Art Factory provides a no-experience-necessary method for Parents and Educators to engage children in hands-on projects. The Art Factory Lesson Plans can be found in the doART section of each lesson as well as in the Teacher Account Center for download. |

4.14 Exiting Creativity Express Children should click the "Log Out" button in the upper right corner of the Creativity Express Home Page window to exit the program. For each individual Lesson Module simply closing the browser tab will Log Out the user. |

Lesson Sequence Within each of the 4 lesson modules the recommended sequence is to begin at the top left, move right then down. For example in "Color Smart" the sequence should be to start with "Value", then move to "Color", "Warm and Cool Colors" and finish with "Making Paint". |
Children's artwork can be entered into their digital portfolio by clicking on the "My Portfolio" link under the doART section of each lesson. Artwork may be in either Jpeg or PNG format, but must be under 2MB in size.
